STJFL Playoff Qualifications 

 

For the PW, Jr and Sr Divisions in Playoffs

For Divisions with 1 Conference

  • 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th place will qualify from each conference based on division record for 1 Conference

Playoff Bracket will be built based on:

1st place will play the 4th place team from same conference.

2nd place will play the 3rd place team from the same conference

 

For Division with 2 Conferences

  • 1st and 2nd will qualify from each conference based on division record.

Playoff Bracket will be built based on:

1st place will play the 2nd place team from the opposite conference.

1st place will play the 2nd place team from the opposite conference

For Flag Division

Flag Playoff Qualification for Flag: A total of 8 teams will qualify for each Division: Division I & Division II or if they are combined into 1 large Division.

For Divisions with 1 Conference

  • 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th place will qualify on based on Division record.

            Playoff Bracket will be built based on:

1st vs 8th, 2nd vs 7th, 3rd vs 6th, 4th vs 5th

For Division with 2 Conferences

  • 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th place will qualify from each conference based on division record.

Playoff Bracket will be built based on:

1st place will play the 4th place team from opposite conference.

2nd place will play the 3rd place team from the opposite conference

 

For Division with 3 Conferences

  • Top 2 teams from each Conference will qualify based on conference record.
  • 2 teams will qualify as wild cards based on overall record for 7th and 8th

 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th, 5th, 6th, place will be determined based on Division Records

            Playoff Bracket will be built based on:

1st vs 8th, 2nd vs 7th, 3rd vs 6th, 4th vs 5th

 

Divisional Tiebreakers

  • Best Division Record
  • Head to head
  • Points Allowed
  • Coin Toss

Non-Conference games will not count in any Divisional tie breaker scenarios for seeding.

Best Overall Record is determined by winning percentage except in a case of teams with no losses; then it's number of wins.

Example:

  • A team with an 8-0 record ranks higher than a team with 7-0 record.
  • A team with a 5-3 record ranks higher than a team with a 4-3 record.
